I was watching tonight’s premier of “Lincoln” on the History Channel and had to stop to e-mail them in a rage. It only took them 40 minutes into the program to let the viewer know that it is likely that Lincoln, one of our greatest presidents, was probably a homosexual. And while a few commentators attempted to refute this bogus claim, the final “expert”, the infamous Gore Vidal, let the viewer know that if Mr. Lincoln wanted to find solace in the arms of another soldier, than who are we to judge?

I"ve been sickened by the History Channel so often because of their unbalanced treatments of the Bible, Catholicism, and history. I wrote them an e-mail of complaint, and told them I would spread the word. If anyone saw this program, or plans to see it, and agrees, please e-mail them as well. Thanks for the support.

I agree with you, do you have an exact email address that you could post here

I don’t understand why they showcased Vidal so much. He has a horrible camera prescence (it is a visual medium after all) and he can’t talk without excruciatingly long pauses.

I also noticed how Vidal took a shot at President Bush. When the program mentioned Lincoln’s suspension of Habeus Corpus, arresting thousands of dissedents and shutting down newspapers, Gore inferred someone who “he won’t name” is doing the same thing in the war on terror. But Lincoln was justified because he was fighting a real war.

Of course thousands of citizens today are not being arrested by George Bush and not one news outlet has been shut down by the government.

Vidal’s suggesting that Lincoln was a practicing homosexual contradicts his character as presented in that very show. The show discussed how Lincoln visited prostitutes when he was younger - not a very homosexual thing to be doing. The program also repeatedly mentioned the Lincoln was acutely aware of how his actions would effect him politically. It mentioned an episode where his wife was chasing him outside with a knife. Lincoln then apperently told her something like “not here” and grabbed her arm and took her back inside their house.

After their son died, his wife held seances in the White House and got him to go to one. Again he realized how his participation in the seance would look to his political enemies and never went to another one. Surely he would be even more aware of how a homosexual affair would kill his career if it was discovered.

You can e-mail historychannel.com, and go to the “contact us” section. Thanks for the feedback. It gets depressing after awhile when you realize the only left on TV that doesn’t aggravate is the Food Channel.

Again, homosexuals project. If you want to know how many problems a homosexual has, give him a pen and tell him to recreate a portion of the world. Chances are, all of his fears, inadequacies, disorders, and doubts will appear in the characters around him (ala Book of Daniel).

What do you expect from someone who loves the sameness of his own body? The homosexual disorder is one where he is has an urge to embrace his mirror image. So naturally, when he turns to the outside world, he only sees himself.

A common myth that circulates in the homosexual community is that “everybody is at least a little gay.” The gay rights activists I worked with scoffed at the 10% figure and would conjecture that it was actually much higher. The longer you talked about it, the higher it got – until some would say over 50%.

Also, even when told directly “I am not gay” many of them would just turn right around and gossip about how so-and-so is still “in the closet.”

To a gay man, everyone else is gay. Lincoln, Gretsky, Favre, Neil Armstrong, Jesus … and any other suitable surrogate father figure. Because this is pure unfounded conspiracy there is no end to where this will go. Today Lincoln, tomorrow orgy at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. If you disagree, then you are just a homophobe and should be put in jail.

There is however, considerable evidence that samurai Lincoln existed and still walks the earth.

At this point in the show my hubby rolled his eyes and said,“First he was a homosexual, now he is chasing prostitutes. Will they make up thier mind?”

Their conjecture was based merely on twisting cultural differences between our prestent times and those pasts. If you read letters of times past then it is often surprising how afffectionate men are to other men and women are to other women. This has nothing to do with homosexuality.

I am sick of the History Channel. A few years ago they were okay, but now that they have an obviously leftist agenda, it’s utterly disgusting that they even still call themselves the “History Channel”. My grandparents watch it a lot, and think they’re learning true History from their documentaries!

Avoid the History Channel like the plague.

All these “religion” shows on the History Channel or others drag out that same, tired, dissenting ex-priest with the thick Irish accent. His name is John Crossan and one would think that he is the only “scholar” around. He says he left the priesthood because he was “no longer happy”. Wow. That’s deep.

I am done with the History Channel, and just about all TV, except perhaps FoodNetwork. I’m just waiting for them to offend me too.

That’s funny. I just started watching the food network last week and my family is amazed. Last night we had turkey cacciatore burgers on portobello buns! Nothing else to watch.

That’s funny, I had always thought that the consensus was that Lincoln’s predecessor, James Buchanan was gay. Hmm. Maybe he left a “gay agenda” in the White House.
