E-mail your spouse

I e-mail my husband fairly often, but I was thinking about how this is somewhat of a strange practice, considering we live together and all.
I was just curious if others do the same. If so, what kind of e-mails do you send?

All the time. Even when in the same room.

Almost never.

It is only the odd time that we have to send each other an attachment or have to forward information to the other.

But we do text each other very often (we both have smart phones.) Usually, it is short messages while one of us is out. For example, I might be out picking up the kids after school and she will text me to stop off at the grocery store to get a few items. Things like that.
