Then don’t bother going to communion or according to St. Paul you will be guilty of the body and blood of Christ.
Can you quote the passage where paul condemns abortion for me please? And if we are going by Paul, then I SHOULD get communion because it would offend my mother if I didn’t and I should avoid offending people. I can look up the quote on that one though if you would like. Then don’t bother going to communion or according to St. Paul you will be guilty of the body and blood of Christ.
1st Corintians 11Can you quote the passage where paul condemns abortion for me please? And if we are going by Paul, then I SHOULD get communion because it would offend my mother if I didn’t and I should avoid offending people. I can look up the quote on that one though if you would like.
1 Corinthians 11 is just talking about a head covering for women…and we don’t do it anymore and don’t know exactly what Paul is talking about. I don’t know how you got abortion out of it, but the person that told me that this passage is about a tradition of a head covering for women that we do not keep anymore, and do not know much about, has written about 5 books on Paul. So I am going to go with his view, that seems much more logical anyway.1st Corintians 11
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks WITHOUT DISCERNING THE BODY, eats and drinks judgment on himself.
Jesus gave the authority to the apostles to tell people right from wrong and abortion is always and everywhere wrong. Jesus was in Mary when he was conceived from the Holy Spirit, therefore if you ignore the person hood of an embryo at the exact moment of conception you are not discerning the body and blood of the lord.
I did not Judge you I said that IF you do not agree with the Bible on the fact that human life starts at conception then you would not be discerning the body of Christ because he was in Mary’s womb at his conception by the Holy Spirit. This is quite interesting actually. To be righteous, according to Paul, you must believe in Jesus. Despite your views on abortion, if you believe in Jesus, you have received the spirit and are righteous by the Lord. But thank you for judging me and saying I am not worthy of the blood and body of Christ…I believe that judging others is talked about in the Bible as well.
I’m not sure if Paul condemns murder or not, but other parts of the bible do. Since a fetus is scientifically human, it’s covered by “though shalt not kill”Can you quote the passage where paul condemns abortion for me please?
I did ask and they said that their view is that if someone is brain dead in their view is that that person ceases to be a person. One of their arguments I see is that it depends on thought. Ask them if they think it would be okay to kill someone who was going to be in a coma for 9 months.
Listen I don’t care about why the person came to the decision to murder their child. In the Bible Jesus is described as being inside of Mary at conception therefore abortion is and always will be considered by the Catholic Church as murder. It IS a sin because the fifth commandment forbids murder. Also it says in the Catechism that anyone who has an abortion or who participates in one is excommunicated.Let me just say that I don’t think that abortion is right. But I do believe that you can’t judge those that get abortions and call them sinners. That is for god to decide. And this is especially true if the abortion is due to rape. Although this is very rare, I know someone personally who was unfortunate enough to have this happen. When I saw the sorrow in her eyes when she told me that she thinks about it every day, I knew that she had more than repented for her actions.
I don’t agree with abortion, but I also don’t agree with standing outside holding pictures of fetuses and chastising those getting abortions. You don’t know them, you don’t know their situation, and you undoubtedly should not be judging them. Only God should judge people.
So, let me say, I don’t agree with abortion at all. But, I don’t think that it should be illegal because I think that it would cause more harm than good to the general public.
Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. “A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae,” “by the very commission of the offense,” and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.
Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom to Peter whatever he bounds on earth is bound in heaven whatever is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. The Church is Christ’s body therefore abortion IS a sin in every circumstance. From its conception, the child has the right to life. Direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, is a “criminal” practice (GS 27 § 3), gravely contrary to the moral law. The Church imposes the canonical penalty of excommunication for this crime against human life.
