Early threats to the Church

On Catholic radio last week, Scott Hahn mentioned that one of our early Popes wrote that Russia, China and the Muslim religion were the greatest threats to the Church.

Does anyone know what Pope he was referring to and where I could find a copy of the writing?

Things weren’t so different many years ago, were they?

2000 years later, the warnings and admonitions in Scripture, also, apply today despite our being so much more “civilized”.
