Do you all think that the the rift in the Davidic Kingdom is analogous to the rift between the split in the East and West? To take it further, do you think the subsequent changes and adaptations of the Jewish faith after exile, (i.e. Judaism in Babylon, in Jerusalem, in the diaspora, and the various groups in the first century) could be analogous to Christendom as we know it today? I have been reading church history and have become increasingly interested in Orthodoxy, and more recently in the RCC, so I am not trying to debate, just make sense of what looks like a similar narrative on this side of the cross.
