Easter Experience

This year I went to a lot of the Easter services and masses. I went to a mass or service every day since Holy Thursday. And prayed the sorrowful mysteries on Good Friday. It makes Easter a so much more spiritual experience. I remembered the year I got confirmed, how it was also such a special experience - going to the services, especially the Easter Vigil. It is such a rich experience. It makes it all NOT just regular days.

I just wanted to share. This makes me happy.

I completely agree with you.

This particular Easter season has such significance for though, as I was finally confirmed this Easter Vigil after 14 years of waiting patiently (I missed my proper confirmation when I moved provinces and no Catholic school was available).

This Holy Week was the first time that my son was there for the entire Triduum.

It was just a very, very special time for us!

Easter is by far the most beautiful season, and has such reverance.

We went to Stations of the Cross, on Good Friday. Prayed the Rosary, daily. Walking the Way of the Cross with Our Lord, throughout Holy Week… makes Easter morning so much more joyful. God bless.

Unfortunately, I did not get to experience the joy of Easter like I have in the past. I have been sick with a cold for more than a week, and have an endless amount of work to do for law school to the point where it is just overwhleming and this cold better go away soon since I can’t keep doing minimal studying due to being too tired. I just can’t think well enough right now for any more studying. I also really miss my undergrad years and my Newman Center more than anything since Easter was the most wonderful time then. I’ll always remember last Easter (not this one).

I was getting depressed about graduating and having to move on and just focusing on the negatives. However, after our Holy Thursday mass, I arranged for rides for students to go to a local parish for adoration since our Newman Center did not have it. We got dinner before and then went and I picked up on of the Divine Mercy Novena pamphlets and thought I would try it. The next day I just was unexplainably happy for once and I kind of felt bad about it since it was Good Friday. It lasted a few days which was nice. It seemed like everyone at our Newman Center was just in the most wonderful of moods that Easter and we had a really nice Easter brunch. I really liked the Divine Mercy chaplet as I think it just made me realize to enjoy the time I had left at my school and be happy to move on. So while, I’m quite streesed out and bummed out this Easter season, I at least have my memories. Maybe this time the chaplet novena will do other things for me. I don’t know which reminds me that I did not say one for today as I 've been so preoccupied with law school.

As a candidate for full communion this year the lead up to easter was a very sacred time for me. For one, i was excited to receive our Lord and to be welcomed into the church, and second i’ve taken up the divine mercy devotion and was looking forward to the novena week.

I resolved i would go to mass every day of holy week: monday, tuesday, wednesday chrism mass (amazing!), holy thursday, good friday, and the vigil.

Going every day turns the whole time into a massive spiritual experience. I loved it, and I was graced heavily, and went through another conversion experience. Amazing!

Upon reflection, the most beautiful thing for me was seeing the long line ups at the confessional, and knowing the miracles our lord was performing in the confessional. I loved every minute of it.

Aw, so sorry. :hug1: I know how you feel. I missed Easter Mass last year, because my mother was in the hospital. I’ve spent several holy days either alone, or in the hospital with her. Can be a very lonely time, under those circumstances.

Devoting that time to be with your Mom was a very loving thing to do, and in keeping with the true spirit of the Resurrection!
