My Question is:
What Catholic Traditions, Rules, and Canons (specifically) I can use to stop a scheduled school Dance during Lent next year (actually the week before holy week – not on a Sunday dance). This is a middle school dance and has traditionally been held in the spring.

I need knowledge fire power in specific details (like Canon Code numbers, Catholic Catechesis) ect… to be armed with in this debate. I tried the quiet route last year, and as a parent noticed the school calendar for next year has the same dance scheduled.

Thank you for your support, prayers and knowledge,

There should not be any debate, The Pastor/priest responsible for the school should know that the season of Lent requires no festivities because it is a penitential season. The only loop-hole would be if the dance falls specifically on a feast day, like St. Patrick’s day.
