First we had Ash Wednesday on Valentines Day and then Easter Sunday is on April Fools day :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

🙂. A contemporary Fool for Christ, an old man named Dobri in Bulgaria who begged on the streets and gave all his money to church and anyone else who would ask him just passed away. He wandered and had nothing and dedicated all to Christ. I wonder - should I pray for him or pray he prays for us all.
Imho pagan celebrations coincidence with Christian ones simply has no meaning. It just happens. It only saddens me that this year Orthodox and Catholics do not celebrate Easter together… again.

Fitting.

Jesus is our Valentine, Ash Wednesday is the start of our honeymoon and a time to grow in love. (wish I could put that mentality into practice)

April Fool is Easter because “Why do you seek him among the dead?” (aka "You thought I died… April Fool!)

Do you know the story of St. Valentine? It’s very interesting . Ash Wednesday was on feast day of a Saint, and as far as Easter, April l is the feast day of St.Hugh of Grenoble, another interesting story of a great Saint. So instead of thinking of a fool’s day., I would rather say a little novena to St. Hugh who is in heaven with our risen Savior. God bless all.🦋🦋🦋

“Easter Sunday is April Fool’s Day” – make your kids hunt for Easter eggs that you never hid 😃

D

This is probably blasphemous, but . . . .when I realized the two dates coincide, my first thought was of the Apostles approaching the tomb, looking inside, and Jesus jumps up from behind the stone that was rolled away, and says …

🤣

😬

And I guess every time Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine’s Day in a non leap year then Easter Sunday will always be April fools day.

For who else would submit their person to such pains and tortures willingly for what they cannot see? It is fitting indeed. But, God’s ways are not man’s.

St. Paul might be all right with this. He wrote that the cross, or Christ’s crucifixion, was foolishness to the unbeliever who thinks himself wise. Therefore it would be more scriptural if April Fool’s Day coincided with Good Friday.
1 Corinthians 1:18-25

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the learning of the learned I will set aside.”

Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith. For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
