The front of the card shows the Kursk Root Icon and the back of the card are the Troparia and Kontakia in , I think Slavonic going on the actual look of the font ]

Well I cannot read the second card, but the icon is of the Kursk Icon of the Theotokos. I think this icon belongs to ROCOR. They are bringing the icon to various churches.

Troparion (Tone 4)
Having obtained thee as an unassailable rampart and wellspring of miracles,
O Most Pure Mother of God, thy servants quell the assaults of enemies.

I’m a Latin Rite gal, so originally thought “Troparia and Kontakia” referred to specific prayers–like the “Our Father” is a specific prayer.
Russian Orthodox makes sense as the card came from someone whose ancestry is half Russian, half Serbian.

Troparia and Kontakia are ‘Propers’ and vary as in the Latin Church ]
There are always specific Troparia and Kontakia for the Feasts of the Church
As far as I know these are the correct Troparion and Kontakion to be used for the Feast for this particular Icon .

When you first replied, “…are the Troparia and Kontakia in, …Slavonic.”, I thought they were specific prayers. As if one would say, “The Our Father and Hail Mary in Slavonic”.
Of course, Google quickly showed that idea to be wrong. I saw the Propers to be for days, saints and feasts…I was thinking my card’s prayers might be for a particular feast of Mary, but which one?

A card of Our Lady of Kursk Icon (Theotokos of the Sign), the wonderworking icon. Metropolitan Philaret 1968, the Topar and Kondak is in Old Church Slavonic. Likely the card was given when the Icon was brought, since it is a touring icon.
The Topar and Kondak are listed in Tone 4.

Yes that is transliteration and above are given accurate translations I guess but I do not know what is a rampart (is a wall in Slavonic), well spring (is a water source?), or compunction ( ? skillfully) meaning. But someone very smart translated into such (for me) difficult probably good English.

Troparia and Kontakia are ALSO used as particular prayers in their own right… and not only on the festal days.
When venerating an icon on one’s own, it’s not uncommon to use the relevant troparion and/or kontakion as prayers of veneration…
The people’s private prayers of preparation in the pewbooks include a fixed Troparion as well.

The card was given to me a long time ago by a co-worker when a relative of mine was in a horrific accident. She had told me the card had been anointed with holy oil and that’s all I could remember about it.
