I know that eating flesh from a living animal a sin as the bible as made it clear. but how about eating really weird food like penis of a bull/pig. maybe they think that will boost their sex drive? I always feel it disgusting and never eat that. is that considered gluttony?

You’re going to have to show me that in the Catechism before I believe you.

Hi,
The way I read it, under the new covenant, cruelty to animals is not sinful in itself. Not a good thing to do though. It may be a sin if you deprive the animals owner of an asset etc. And it’s not sinful to eat anything, if it’s not harmful to yourself or others.

Believe me if you are hungry enough you will eat anything to stay alive, or is starving to death a preferable alternative?

By the by are you running out of real topics to post?

Does Sushi count as a WEIRD FOOD? :hmmm:

Just love the stuff :bounce: :whacky: :yup:

Sinful foods:

Raisins
Snickerdoodles
Mushrooms
Shellfish
Olives

what about eating twinkies, coolwhip, jello, hamburger helper and other “food” products that are almost entirely created in a laboratory, not out of real food ingredients, how weird is that? how about a teenager subsisting on Dr. Pepper and Doritos for 4 years?

no, somebody on earth should eat that kind of stuff and we’re lucky you have some taste for it. Try the barbequed penis, for sure.

😃

Why can’t asparagus be on that list… I hate asparagus.

I love raisins! You can’t be serious…

And I don’t think it counts today. I mean… I hope not.

Hey I grew up on a farm. We butchered two pigs every year and ate just about every thing except the stomach, lungs, and penis. I know that Haggis is a stomach stuffed with something and eaten in Scotland and we had neighbors that ate lungs as well as the rest, but no pizzles. Headcheese and Blood Sausage are gooood!
In Acts Peter has a vision and is taught by God that it is ok to eat a lot of things forbidden in the OT. If you can stomach it, eat it it isn’t a sin. :yup:

That’s in the covenant between God and Noah(Gen 9:4). though I don’t know if it is in Catechism

You read incorrectly.

CCC **2418: **It is contrary to human dignity to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly.

Anything contrary to human dignity is sinful.

– Mark L. Chance.

John The Baptist ate wild locusts and honey.
I don’t think he was committing a sin.

NOW, if you eat strange stuff that you see on “Fear Factor”, then the only sin is pride, as in to being a show-off.

go with God!

The only foods that I consider, if not sinful, outright digusting are haggis and chittlin’s, boiled OR fried.

If eating any of those is a sin, well I guess I’m a big ole sinner. I LOVE mushrooms and snickerdoodles and Lobster (hey I’m from New England) and Olives. I can take or leave raisins unless their in cookies.

I’ll see your Genesis and raise you an Acts.

When was the last time anybody offered you a hog or bull penis for lunch?
