How many of you are planning on or are reading and meditating upon the Holy Father’s Encyclical on the Eucharist during this the “Year of The Eucharist”? Here is a link to it:

Actually, a very very big 3 or 4 days in my life recently, I read that encyclical. Now as a follow up, I have printed out but have not read “Rosarium Virginis Marie” or you know what I mean, I forget the exact spelling.

Eccl. D. Eucharista was very developmental for me, and helped me a lot, I highly recommend it. Have your Bible with you when you read it if possible.
 
All of the encyclicals are actually very good to read. Each one has something brilliant to build up our faith. I depend on the encyclicals I’ve read in reading the issues of our time.

Now I’m reading the Compendium of the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church. It sounds like eating chalk, but once you get started, it’s actually compelling.

I’ll sometime get around to Ecclesia de Eucharistia. I’ve no doubt it will knock my socks off also. They all do.

I have started to read Ecclesia de Eucharistia but have not yet finished.
 
Those of you who have read it might consider developing threads that discuss encyclicals. For example, a few of you might develop a summary of “Ecclesia De Eucharistia” This would be posted, along with the link to the encyclical. Then, posters could read the summary and participate in reflection and discussion. The entire encyclical would, of course, be available for reference as needed.

Possibly, this might generate interest and discussion. With the wealth of teaching available, not everyone has the time to read entire statements.

we used it as the basis of catechist formation sessions all year, and (in a digest form) in parent sacramental classes and in adult education classes. combined with special holy hours all year and some other special events, observance of the Year of the Eucharist was very profitable for our parish in increasing knowledge and appreciation of the reality of the sacrament, particularly for those who instruct others. We used pamphlets from OSV and from the USCCB, as well as the EE from Daughters of St Paul and study guide.
