Ecclesia supplet

we were posed this question in class: supposed a group of catholic laity was marooned on an island, and eventually establishes a church, and desires to continue the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, is ecclesia supplet at work in allowing one of them to consecrate bread (and wine for that matter) for the rite of Holy Communion?

No, their only recourse would be community prayer and individual Spiritual Communion.

I think that perhaps the Eastern Orthodox concept of economia might provide in that situation, but the Catholic concept of ecclesia supplet only supplies the power of jurisdiction, not the power of orders.
