This is a good article dealing with the abuse of ecclesiastical authority and false obedience. In other words, it explains the Catholic response when dealing with wolves in sheeps clothing who are attempting to destroy the faith. This article is very timely.

Nice article with lot’s of good references.

The first half is really good, until it make a tortured and rather illogical defense of Lefebvre.

The article makes a nice argument that Lefebvre may have had “sufficient grounds for his refusal to obey Pope Paul VI.” Which may or may not be correct, except, that’s not why Lefebvre was excommunicated. He was excommunicated for violating a very clear canon. This article does nothing to address that fact, but merely attacks the fantasy that Lefebvre was excommunicated because he resisted Paul VI…big ooops.

I suspect this article was written before the “excommunication”, and as such is only dealing with the suspension of the good Archbishop by Paul VI.

Very good article, sadly we are catechised and taught to believe that no matter what if the bishop said it or someone else siad it thats just how it is, so if you want to dance on the altar at mass and the bishop thinks its ok it must be! Talk about false obedience though, wonderful article, we must instruct ourselves in the faith and ensure that we not follow those who are not follwoing the faith. I always say when people blindly follow authority, that they better be sure of who they follow, cause they might just follow em straight to hell. Im sure it works the other way though, blind obedience is a cheap way for us to rationalize things we are too lazy to combat or change.
