Some of them reject the fact that Jesus is one person (human and divine) believeing that He is two distinct people.
The devision in 1054 was in regards to the Holy Spirit and not only. The major attempts to re-established communion between Catholics and Orthodox took place at the second Council of Lyons in 1274 and Council of Florence in 1438-1439. Progress in reunion was rejected by Orthodox population. An official international dialog between the two Churches has been since 1980.
Orthodox Christians consider themselves to be a part of one Church in a sense that they share the same faith and sacraments, as well as Byzantine liturgical, canonical and spiritual traditions. There are 13 orthodox Churhes, which are “self-headed” “aoutocephalous” . Authocephalous Church possesses the right to resolve the eternal problems on its own aouthority and the ability to choose its own bishops, including the patriarch, Archbishop or Metropolitan who heads the Church.
