Eternal rest grant unto him, o Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Such a talent! And in interviews he seemed like a really good guy. Not a stuck up celebrity but down to earth. He certainly had vices, but oh what a talent!!! I too was stunned when I read about his passing.

May God have mercy on his soul and on the souls of all the faithfully departed🙏🏻

May his dear soul rest in peace.

I have long since forgiven him for swiping Valerie Bertinelli from me. For men of a certain age, who came of age in the late 1970s, no further explanation is necessary. Still a lovely lady to this day.

If there’s a rock n roll heaven
Then you know they’ve got a hell of a band

May he rest well

He was one of my high school crushes… that impish smile of his got me every time. I didn’t even realize at the time what a master guitarist he was.

@HomeschoolDad–we had a hard time forgiving Valerie Bertinelli for swiping him from us, but in retrospect, we thought they made a “cute couple” (the ultimate compliment back in the '80s.)

RIP Eddie and rock on!

Indeed they did. I thought they even looked a little bit alike. Maybe the kind of flat-ish nose thing. He was part Indonesian.

The Dutch are pretty tolerant people on general principles. Ben Kingsley and Merle Oberon were both part-Indian, though Miss Oberon felt like she had to keep this hidden. I am so thankful people don’t think like this anymore.

My son…a huge Van Halen fan told me that when Eddie first learned of his tongue cancer, he blamed it on his use of metal and copper picks…which he always had one in his mouth. No idea if it has any merit but…
