EDITED: How long before excommunicated can be restored to full communion?

I remember that when a person is absolved of excommunication reserved to the holy see that they have to write some sort of letter that they got absolved? For example if someone got absolved by a priest of an excommunication needing absolution reserved to the holy see I know I have to write a letter to them or the excommunication will be back in effect. So how many days or months must it be done within?
 
Found it it’s within a month that she would have to make recourse to the "competent penal superior or to an authorized priest. (church law 1357)
