Hi
does anyone know anything about the “edited” version of the Passion that Mel Gibson released last year? I remember hearing about it, but don’t know how to find that version. Any help would be appreciated!

I haven’t seen the Recut myself (only the original in theatres and DVD), but the Internet Movie Database says:
In January 2005, Mel Gibson announced that a slightly (5-6 minutes) shorter version would be released to theaters in March 2005 (just in time for Easter), under the title “The Passion Recut”. The new version features no new scenes, but trimming of the most graphic scenes, particularly the scourging.

Also indicated on another page of the IMDb is that the recut film still would have received an “R” rating, so instead was released unrated (but I can’t verify that)

I wouldnt want to watch an edited version. We all need to see each year the agony our Dear Lord went through to save our souls!

I think it sank without a ripple. I never saw another mention of it after it was released.

sorry but that wasn’t my question. My question was where to find an edited version, not whether or not someone should watch it.
