We are having our son baptised next week. The baptism will be in Latin in the ordinary form. Is it possible and licit to insert the exorcisms of the extraordinary form into the OF baptismal rite. Celebrating in the EF is not an option, but I would love to include this beautiful part of the old rite of baptism, if possible. I think our priest would be open to this.

Have you asked your priest?
I don’t believe this would be considered licit (because it’s somewhat of a rubric violation to mix-and-match in that way).

No, they cannot be inserted as it is not permissible to mix and match between forms of the rites. Each version of the rite stands as a complete work that cannot be added to or subtracted from. That was drilled into us by our liturgy professor ad nauseam. As he said, “It’s not ‘do the red, say the black… add the purple post it and whiteout that part’.”

That seems reasonable. It’s a shame there’s no real exorcism in the new rite, though. Thanks for your answers!
