Someone else brought up the battle of the masses. Read my OP and you will see my question was very clear as is my subject line. Very few others responded about the OF. One did ask why and I answered period. My answer was intentionally short and direct for the very reason that I do not want a battle, so again, if you can answer the original question I appreciate that.

Actually your original post was very clear that you needed** help** because you were so deathly *** afraid*** of the OF.

You joined the battle by making the post about your feelings on the issue, rather than simply asking, in a neutral manner ‘Hey guys, does anyone know where there is an EF in Wiesbaden’ and leaving it at that, without the emotive cry for help, without the unnecessarily insulting mention of fear.

And don’t pretend you didn’t.
 
Wow, Lily. You sure do want to fight. Sorry you will have to carry on alone. I don’t remember saying I was “deathly afraid of an OF” I think I said I was afraid I would have to attend an OF. Maybe a matter of semantics, but I meant afraid as in dread not fear. Hope that clarifies for you. Please try to refrain from arguing any further. There are more than enough threads for you carry on this battle. I think there is even one about how these threads become nasty. I will no longer respond to you so you may be as accusatory as you wish, I’m not playing anymore.

As to everyone else who read the question and respnded, I appreciate your responses. They have been helpful. Please do not be put off by those trying to hijack for a fight. I am still interested in any help you have to offer

Monica, I will close by saying the following. You brought up the priest’s comments unprompted by me or anyone else, and thus have no reason to be either surprised or offended that your point was responded to.

It’s kinda the point of discussion forums like this one - every comment that is made is open for discussion! Of course not everything said may have been to your taste, that too is part and parcel of internet communications, you’ll get opinions and attitudes that differ from your own.

Be all that as it may, I certainly have no wish to continue either, and am sorry if I offended in any way.
 
Also as others have noted they are not forbidden to say mass.

How can you feel comfortable by assisting at a Mass where the priest is suspended by the Pope? If a priest is suspended, then he cannot say Mass.

More often that not, when I’ve attended OF masses I’ve come away very disappointed. For me, there ok, once in awhile (I might be going to one tonight) but it’s not something I want to attend on a regular basis. Given the choice, I’d attend a non SSPX EF over a SSPX Chapel, however if the SSPX is my only choice, that’s where I’d go with a clean conscience. I’ve got only one agenda, and it’s recapturing my Church’s glorious tradition.

Yes, but many if not most of your fellow SSPX attendees do not have such benevolent attitudes. And you know what they say about lying down with dogs, you’re mighty likely to get up with fleas.
 
Does any thread that mentions the EF Mass automatically, after 10 posts, center around the SSPX?

I’m pretty sure there are threads for this topic (SSPX and such).

Just answer the OP’s freaking question, and let it be.

This site may help you. It has a listing of churches which do regularly scheduled Latin masses in the Extraordinary Form. You can scroll down and find Wiesbaden.

I asked a German friend if he could find any masses celebrated according to the Extraordinary Form, but nothing turned up. He did give me a list of mass times at St Bonifatius, Wiesbaden.

Only the Ordinary Form is offered, however. I recommend checking it out, though. The state of the Church in Europe is not as bad as the Aglo-Colonial world. Sure… the numbers in attendance are low, but the parishoners and clergy are still very reverent on the whole.

I’m just ignoring any post that does not answer the question. I have seen too many people bullied off thier own posts. As I stated before, anyone who wants to fight the battle of the masses can start a new thread. I will be sure not to post anything on it or even read it.

I found this church in nearby Frankfurt. It is diocesan.

From the site:
17:20 Uhr Rosenkranzgebet (deutsch)
18:00 Uhr Feierliches Choral-Hochamt
ca. 19:30 Uhr gesungene Vesper

which means:

5:20 p.m. Rosary in German
6:00 pm High Mass
7:30 sung Vespers

Those times are for Sunday.

Taking a look at the “News” = “Aktuelles” it looks like they have Marian processions sponsored by the Thomas More soicety in May, June, August, September, and October.

Thanks. When I first posted, I wasn’t sure where anything was in relation to Wiesbaden. I am beginning to think I am closer to Frankfurt than I originally thought. I am really bad about getting places on time so I was worried about anything being very far away and me not knowing where I’m going at first. I probably will attend the post mass ubtil I can get my bearings but I will definitely start looking into all your suggestions as soon as possible. This sounds like a good one too!
