Effective Prayers for Recovery from Addiction? 7 Sorrows of Mary?

I would like to know what effective prayers are out there for a case of addiction that I feel called to pray for. Does anyone have a tried and true prayer or novena? I noted on another thread that someone mentioned the 7 Sorrows of Mary rosary and I looked it up (having never heard of it). I see it was a devotion of St. Bridget as well as Our Lady apparition in Rwanda’s recommendation (not sure the status of this apparition in the church). Anyway the thread mentioned you have to say that rosary for 40 days, but I couldn’t find any source that states where this came from.
So I guess I have two questions:
  1. Recommendations for prayers/novena/ etc for addiction recovery?
  2. Thoughts on 7 Sorrows of Mary rosary, how to pray it, etc?
 
How about a 54 day Rosry novena for this intention?

Or, pray all 15 or 20 decades daily for the same?
 
The 7 Sorrows Rosary is also known as the 7 Dolors Rosary and the Servite Rosary.

They sell it on Amazon, or the Servites sell it off their website.

I think you can get one for under $20 USD.

I used to pray it a couple of times per week, but my prayer life changed. I have put it aside.

I recommend it but I wasn’t a huge fan. I preferred the 7 Joys Rosary (also called the Seraphic Rosary or the Franciscan Crown.) I have put this one aside.

I just pray the regular rosary, the divine mercy chaplet and the Holy Spirit Rosary today.
 
I think St. Maximillian Kolbe and St. Dymphna are known for addiction. I am sure there are others.
 
Pray to remove any cravings & to remove anything that might be causing these addictions, like even right when you get those cravings, have faith and keep praying don’t give up no matter what, also recommend spiritual deliverance prayers and ask your guardian angel to pray for you
