Each individual Christian shoulders the responsibility for evangelizing by living an exemplary life. We are recognized as Christians by our way of life.

My question is, how can you and I accomplish this in today’s world, and what tools can we use to make this a reality?

Well, for me loving others is easier when they are not near me. What I mean is, when there are people in our lives that are difficult to love and seem to hate us, it’s hard to love them back. So one tool is, when dealing with a difficult person, have mercy on them and of your judgment of them. Remember that God is with them as much as with you.

I can certainly relate to this, and I suspect we all face challenges like this in our lives. I am just wondering what experiences people might have that would help deal with such people or situations.

According to fr. Mitch Pacwa of ewtn St. Francis never said that. However whoever did say it was particularly intuitive in my view. I’m a firm believer in “behavior is believable”. As to the thread title if I understand it correctly I would say charity whenever possible without looking for a pat on the back or any other recognition. Taking deep breaths and letting things go when in a debate/argument with someone-not always having to be right even if I am. Not having to have the last word and admitting when I’m wrong. Live whatever faith I have to the best of my ability-in other words make work my prayer.

The church has got to train us. The church doesn’t want to train us. We’ve got to do it in teams. The church law is to divide and rule us, and isolate us. It doesn’t want us doing anything. It doesn’t mind how many needy people it is going to damage and strand for the next 38 years.

In a way you are answering the question I raised. We do need the support of the church. I often hear that the church doesn’t evangelize and one could argue that the church is failing us in some ways.

On the other hand, the church is you and I and all the people around us. We are the apostles if we choose to take up that challenge. Sometimes I think that too often we are all nominal Catholics. Maybe we should just become a little more faithful, a little more confident and take up that challenge?

  1. Know VERY well our faith and be able to explain it with charity and clarity [facts]
  2. Live our Faith fully and publicly
  3. Pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit
  4. Share and or defend it WHEN the Holy Spirit supplies the opportunity; which he most certainly will IF you pray for it and are up to the task your seeking.
PRAY much

If one makes Jesus Christ the center of one's life, if there be a real degree of affection and love there, then 'evangelization " comes easy. This love comes from living and studying the Holy Bible, the inspired word of God it has the power to convert. Sharing the knowledge with others, and living the teachings of Christ. Use the teaching authority of the Catholic Church as your guidance in the Bible's interpretation so as not to be misled. In Baptism we share in the priestly, prophetical and kingly powers of Christ, have courage, when the opportunity presents itself, to step out in faith, trusting the Holy Spirit to lead you, if you love Christ, you have the Spirit.

Here’s what is essential:🙂

KNOW your faith well enough to be able to live it fully and openly

Live your faith publicly as you may be “the only bible some see”

Be able to share it WHEN the HS give you the opportunity {we don’t force people to listen to us; unless its our KIDS}

Be able to defend it in charity and clarity [with facts] when needed

God Bless you,

Patrick [PJM]

Your statement brought to mind the words of Blessed Mother Teresa

"I used to pray that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that, but now I pray that he will guide me to do whatever I am supposed to do, what I can do. I used to pray for answers, but now I am praying for strength. I used to believe that prayer changes things. Now I know that prayer changes us and we change things."

We are the Church…

Jjtc, and Ontheway,

If we don’t see a clear way of doing so, we ought to pray to God to send workers into the harvest field.

Then we’ll be taking part in the work even if we don’t know how it works at the “sharp end”.

That’s teamwork, even without somebody “organising” us.

One of my favorite evangelizing tools: taking someone out to lunch.
