I am sure someone out there can help me with this question. When we are baptized, is our “Sin” or Sins" (plural)that is (are) forgiven. Explanation please.
We are forgiven of our Original sin passed down to us by Adam and Eve. We are also blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit to help guide us through our life- and to help us avoid sin.
Baptism washs away all sins. This includes original sin as well as any venial and mortal sins that a person may have committed. In addition to washing away these sins, baptism also removes all temporal punishment due to these sins.
So that means if an adult who has just been baptized suddenly dies, he would go straight to heavan.
