Thank goodness. I’ve seen Red Dwarf. The idea of having something sitting on the kitchen counter with S M E G written on it in huge capital letters disturbs me, no matter how attractive the actual article is. 😛

I had to do a Google search because I never heard of the profane urban swear word definition of this. I really think I was better off *not *knowing this! 😦

If it makes you feel any better, the Italian appliance brand pre-dates the TV show colloquialism by four decades.
 
Mine is of the Everyday Simple range at Argos or Tesco… under E10 and works great, Smart and unobtrusive

The well water here is the hardest I have ever come across and limescale is a serious issue, Landlord needs to sort it but that it not my problem .
