Hey Everyone

Please please pray for my friend Tom, he told me he wanted to kill himself this week, and hes already attempted a few times, please please pray for him it would be MUCH appreaciated!!!

Prayers on on their way!

Can you encourage him to call a suicide prevention hotline? You may want to consider calling yourself, to see if they have any tips on how to deal with your friend, and recognizing what signs may require immediate intervention. I did a quick google search, and 1.800.SUICIDE (784-2433) looks to be a possible resource you could direct him to. I don’t know of any Catholic hotlines off hand, but hopefully someone else here can chime in with one.

Prayer sent, more coming. Don’t let him alone for one second. A friend of mine killed himself, and to this day it still feel it worse than any other death I have experienced because he had so much ahead of him. If I had even the inkling that he was going to do something, I would have stolen my parents car to stop him. Do everything in your power to stop him! Call the authorities and tell them that you are worried he might do something if you have to, it is far better than the alternative. I’ll pray for both of you. I’m so sorry that you have to go through something like this.

He is in my prayers…try to get him in touch with a Priest immediately…God Bless you and your friend.

I’m getting ready to go to morning Mass. I will offer up this Mass for him. :gopray:

YOU got it! You are a great friend. Didn’t you start another thread for him as well? We could all do well to be blessed with such a devoted friend like you.

God Bless both of you!

Prayers are on the way. I will ask St. Dymphna, the patron St. of Mental Health for intercessoons.

Prayers coming.
I believe that every U.S. state has a state chapter of NAMI–the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Go to www.nami.org and look up your state’s chapter. (Or go to your state page). You can find people to talk to and programs that will help you and your friend understand mental illness. Getting to know others who deal with the illness, for themselves or for friends or family members, is a real lifeline.

God bless you.
