Ooooh, I see by your time stamps you’re coming late to the party. Well, grab a lampshade and join in. It’s been a doozy. Unfortunately, Mr. Pillow is calling my name now. But have fun!

While the Pope Benedict article is okay, I would note that there is another article currently being advertised on the page below the Pope article, that refers graphically to some gay sex acts in the headline. Which is not surprising given that the Advocate is a major gay news outlet, but just be forewarned if you click.

I think Benedict is getting ready to go before the Throne of God in short order. I am praying for him in preparation for that likely upcoming event for a while now.

Indeed. Although I don’t really want him to die soon, I think it would sound nice to call him “St. Benedict XVI” in the future. 😇

Thanks, Ian. Didn’t realize that you were such a big fan of The Advocate, the nation’s leading LGBT news outlet. Well, I guess we all have our guilty pleasures.
Well I guiltily take pride on regarding myself open to considering a wide range of views on a wide spectrum of topics. Perhaps you might consider joining me in doing the same? 😛
I read stuff — on both sides of the ecclesiastical and political spectrum — that is so extreme, I’d probably get flagged for mentioning the names of some of them. Then I make up my own mind. I’ve read articles from The Advocate now and then. You won’t get cooties. And I say that as a man who has admired women, and only women, now going into my seventh decade of mortal coil. Nothing’s going to change that.

Journalistically, The Advocate is better than some of the MSM. I think it realizes that it has a very intelligent reader base and that there are gay people of all viewpoints. In that way it’s light years ahead of some other papers and some other activist movements.

I could swear that Francis said that he is teaching the exact same thing that JPII and Benedict taught and he wonder why conservative American Catholic didn’t understated it.

I don’t believe this will be on the cards. The general sense doesn’t suggest it, but I believe he will be remembered as an obedient son of the Church having great faith in both the leadership of both JPII and Francis.
