Somebody recently did a magic trick on me the other day where I pick any card out of the deck and put it under my hand. He put his hand on mine, asked 1 or 2 questions like “is it a red card” or “is it above 10” and guessed correctly more than half the time. Everybody was in awe who saw, as he didn’t touch the deck of cards-just put his hand on mine and guessed.

I asked him later what he did and he said he’s been practicing that trick for a while using “energy”. He’s not the type of guy to lie, and says there are books written on it.

Have anybody heard about using “energy” or something for magic tricks?

I would be hesitant to take the guys words at face value. I am dumbfounded by how people do card tricks when I see them, but after having them explained to me, it usually comes down to math, skill, and luck.

However, witchcraft is not old wives tales, its real. The Devil uses it to confuse and misguide people, and I would avoid it.

My guess, you asked a magician to reveal his secret and he gave a “magic” answer. Magicians don’t share their tricks, and if they are good, they shouldn’t! It takes the fun out of the game. It could be something more nefarious, of course. When people start talking about the “energy” of objects witchcraft flags should be going up-- but I seriously doubt that that is what is going on here.

Guessing more than half the time on questions like “is it a red card” (half the card ARE red) or “is it above a 10” isn’t at all impressive. People with good hand and eyes can get the right card every time with simple unnoticeable tricks, with a properly prepared deck I could easily make educated guesses about the cards through simple statistics.

👍

I was thinking the same thing.

It’s not very *good *energy if he only gets it right half the time after asking narrowing questions.

Puh-lease.

I suppose it goes w/o saying that if this individual believes the air is telling him what card you have, you probably should not be hanging around him for many reasons.

Yeah— the ‘energy’ of being a practiced artist with sleight-of-hand.

It’s stage trickery that almost anyone can master.
