I love Cardinal Baloney’s statement in the article:

"“Following the [clerical sex abuse] scandal,” Mahony said, “the last thing our people need is to now disrupt the liturgy, which has been a source of nourishment and strength during this difficult journey.”

So because bishops like Cardinal Baloney paid off victims and transferred abusive priests around, the Church should not make badly needed liturgical forms??? Wow, talk about a non-sequituur.
