I was recently sent an e-mail through our local Cursillo movement in regard to attending an “ennagram/spirituality” workshop. I found several Catholic sites on-line and all seemed to agree that this is something that does not belong in the Catholic church. Please explain what exactly this is and if it indeed does not belong in the church.

Stay away from them. They are New Age clap-trap and have no place in Christianity.

It’s so hard to understand why people keep searching for and practicing these new age practices, many of them not even knowing they are based on the occult.

Our faith is so deep and so rich, surely there are other things that could be addressed and studied at a Catholic workshop!

I would bring this up to whoever is responsible for organizing this event and make them aware that this is not something Catholics should be teaching (charitably, of course!).
