Epiphany is on January 6th. When exactly in the Roman Catholic Church was the feast day of Epiphany moved to a Sunday in January?
 
The Feast of the Epiphany is still officially on January 6th, no matter what. However, the Bishops of some dioceses may decide to move it to the nearest Sunday for the convenience of the faithful.

I have no idea about when the Church started to allow this. 🤷
