Is this a Sunday homily at a Catholic Mass presided by a priest?
Did the priest sit down after he or the deacon read the Gospel or did one of them speak for a little bit first before she spoke?

If it is a weekday Mass, then a homily is not necessary and he could technically invite someone to offer a reflection.
If it is a Sunday Mass, then the priest or deacon needs to offer a homily, no matter how short, before taking a break from the Mass to allow another person to speak. Doing this after the homily is not really appropriate, but it sometimes happens.
If the priest sat down and let a heretic speak instead of offering a homily, then he is absolutely in the wrong.

No that is very very messed up. The fruits of what is known as the “Spirit” of Vatican 2. All the people who rail against Vatican 2 usually do so out of ignorance because they haven’t read the conciliar documents. Most of the abuses that happen in Novus Ordo parishes are NOT called for in Vatican 2./QUO
END QUOTE of SaintFrancis333.

Well I’d like to add something here to the conversation if I may,
I’m not picking a fight. I’m not interested in a brawl. I have something to get off my chest.

I’m kind of fed up with always having to tip toe around and making sure I say “in the spirit of” ,so as not to violate the rules. But I’m a rule follower so I will. I do.

I’m tired of people who automatically criticize,(attack), any dissent lately, with what appears more and more…Have you, (who dare question so must be “ignorant”) read “the documents”?
Ie. above quote.
I wonder how many of THOSE people have read “the documents”???..I have read 'the documents" and studied well beyond, into the works of German theologians Rahner and Ratzinger(Pope Benedict, Emeritus). I have studied the French contingent (existentialist quarter) and their close workings with the “Rhine” contingent, among others from eurozone… etc etc. The arguments and counter arguments and other available source material…And the documents finally produced.

And I am also a WITNESS to much of what was ultimately implemented…“in the spirit of”.

I want to say this… as an old retired Detective, we were always hammered from the first day on the beat, in NY, with an axiom, (used in most states),called, “fruit from the forbidden tree”… in short , an example…
One has a warrant, one executes the warrant ,for X, while executing the warrant for X, …A,B, C, G and Z ,are discovered, all A-1 felonies.
Then it turns out the original warrant was defective, in some way…result??.. not only X is excluded (thrown out), but all the other things discovered, all also excluded.(thrown out)…because…everything is considered… “fruit from the forbidden tree”.
The source, “the tree”, was defective or corrupted, in some way…so everything flowing from it, is equally corrupted or defective ,under the eyes of the law.
Or in the old Yiddish saying translated, “the fish stinks from the head down”.

“Fruit of the forbidden tree”----------------------“In the spirit of”…just something to chew on.
God Bless All.
Peace.
Martin Pastore.
