Is the Platonic idea of a “Good idea” just being recalled but already known Aristotle idea too. I don’t know what if anything the church thinks about this. If the idea is even understood. I am asking because Aristotle did not agree with Plato on some things.

I’m not sure the Church has a ruling on this.

While all “Church officials” have studied philosophy, the Church’s mission is not to do philosophy but to know God.

I see. I would think “good knowing” would be part of knowing God. The church’s interest in philosophy I would think would be because of the idea that faith and reason go hand in hand. So I’ve been told. And I think that’s what the church teaches.
