Solipsism, the belief that ones mind is the entire universe and nothing else exists, is rightfully viewed as the height of prideful arrogance. But epistemological Solipsism, that nothing beyond ones mind is knowable is the foundation of intellectual virtue and humility. Everything beyond self existence is taken on faith. I think when we frame a discussion we set ourselves up to be successful in bringing souls to Christ.
When I debate an atheist I offer to prove to them God exists without faith if they can prove to me they exist without faith. Because the only way to know i proved God’s existence to another mind is to first know that mind exists and so we can see it change.
If someone can grasp the science is just useful faith and we can frame a discussion in “what should we place our faith in” instead of “why faith isn’t bad” we’re already close to God.
Just wanted to see if anyone else has success with this line of reasoning or if you have more success with a hubristic sense of knowledge. Thoughts?
