Eucharist merely symbolic?

wow, that’s an interesting story Eire! Thanks for sharing that! Could this be true?
 
Sorry, don’t know…

I’m usually a little skeptical about stories like this one. I don’t doubt the Real Presence, but the story seems unfounded. Could be true, could be false. Many zealous Christians have fabricated stories like this for centuries, but then again God works in mysterious ways…👍

Interesting story, but though I would love it to be true, I kind of think that it is not a true story.
Because Jesus is sacramently present in the Eucharist. It would still look, feel, taste and smell like bread. Unless the dog had a supernatural sense of smell or something.
And if it were true, It would have been all over the Catholic news when it happened, and it wasn’t.

Well I’ll tell you a true story about a spirit.:eek:
My sis and her hubby were walking an old disused railway line beside our town 20 years ago approx.
The line was gone and it had been made into a walkway,.
There is a local story of a 15 year old boy being killed on that line way back in the 40’s when the line was in full operation.
A Baptist Church isn’t far from the spot of where many people said they saw the red light.

Anyway I’ll cut to the quick here, they had their black Labrador dog called Sam with them.

The dog came to that spot, and refused to go past it, my sis said she saw the red light and she was terrified.
When she got home her face was as white as snow with fright, her husband as far as I can remember didn’t see anything, they had to take another route home.

I remember someone I knew well, (deceased) an atheist.
He told me distinctly that he didn’t believe in anything, but while passing that spot one night he said the shivers ran down his spine, he said to me, "I don’t believe in anything, but I do believe there is something there at that spot ".

So yes I believe animals can sense things us humans can’t.

I don’t doubt Transubstantiation, but the Priest on the site as you can see, is looking for more info.

I wish I could remember the story but our Priest told of someone…a priest? not sure… who when consuming the Body of Christ, it turned to flesh and had blood. I totally forget where he got this story but someone on here probably knows which one I’m talking about.

Oh, I believe in the Eucharistic miracles, but I am not sure about that story.

I had a priest once tell of when he was in seminary, and was a Eucharistic minister during a Mass, and the hosts bleed for the other minister. I trust what he said.
