That might be the rule - but - in the the Diocese EDIT the priest, even the pastor, has no choice - it is demanded by EDIT the Bishop at every Mass in every parish - EMHC’s are all over the place. Not “extraordinary” at all.Well, I guess I could say practice makes perfect, as we seem to manage it alamost all of the time. Or his own personal preference.
If it IS a “rule”, are you aware of the document? I’d love to have it in front of me when I call the diocese.
RE: your statement about “back to the time of the Apostles”, We’ve got 2000 years of teachings since then - including dogma - I’m not going back there - and no Catholic is allowed to (because of the dogma declared since then).
There was and is a valid reason for stopping the practice of distributing the Precious Blood (and the desecration that has occurred because of it)- forcing the issue - similar to the unnecessary use of EMHC’s and teens standing around the altar (the Lifeteen abuse that went on NATIONWIDE for years!) and receiving in the hand - were ALL abuses forced on the Church by dissident priests and bishops.
Participating in them, IMHO, is wrong - even if it eventually HAD to be approved because of ;the number of dissidents involved.
