When the priest reads the part about “…Francis our Pope and “X” our bishop…” with X for the name of the bishop, I presume it is the norm if the priest is celebrating Mass in another diocese not their normal one to mention that particular bishop’s name? I noticed that while on pilgrimage, that the priests would mention the bishop of the diocese we were in not our home diocesan bishop’s name. I am sure ahead of time, the 2 priests were given the names of the respective bishops to use in the liturgy as we had Masses in Lisieux, Paris, Nevers, and Lyon in France. I’ve heard guest priests mention on EWTN the name of that bishop not the one of their home diocese too.
