Hello,
I was recently researching about euthanasia and thought that I might ask your opinions on this matter.
Are you for or against euthanasia? Please list your reasons why.

I voted against euthanasia. I am pro-life. Womb to tomb, people! We as Catholics believe in the redemptive value of suffering. The final, agonizing minutes, hours, days, sometimes years for people with chronic illnesses, are an opportunity for that person to participate in Christ’s crucifixion in a very special way.

Oh, just want to clarify that I am against euthanasia for people. I am for euthanasia for pets when done responsibly and with good reason.

I am against Euthanasia. If people are in so much pain that life is unbearable, they’ll pass out and go into shock- and if it’s not quite that unbearable, they can be given drugs to induce a coma until the problem goes away, or the person dies. People should do what they can to make the lives of those who suffer better- not simply end it. Euthanizing people who are suffering is also only a short step away from killing people you simply don’t like. We’re already there with abortion. We are seeing a repeat of the holocaust- and will see it manifested again and again.

Euthanasia is murder of the weak and infirmed. All life is precious to God, and only He can determine when to end life.

Euthanasia is rampant in Holland, with people putting their elderly parents to death because their end of life suffering interferes with their vacation plans. Pediatricians there routinely end the lives of premature infants who may not be able to live a normal life.

Legalization of euthanasia for the elderly is a short step from legally killing those we no longer want in our families, at any age, for whatever reason. :eek: Wanted a baby boy? Got a girl instead? Get the doctor to euthanize her! It’s legal! Why not! :eek:

Do you see where this is heading?
 
Euthanasia is beyond awful. It’s about being prideful in our own ability to do everything for ourself, rather than being dependant upon others. It’s about not wanting to deal with someone who’s in pain and who is dependant upon you. It’s about dealing with a patient who isn’t going to be a positive statistic of a cure or “good outcome”.

We need to get a handle on the fact that human life, any human life is sacred and deserves to be protected.

Euthanasia is just “Politically Correct” murder to get rid of people, according to the Culture of Perversion are a burden on society.

In addition, as it relates to the young, it can be considered eugenics if it is used to murder those with genetic abnormalities or undesirable traits. The same goes for abortion.

Those who engage in euthanasia, as well as abortion, commit pre-meditated murder and should be treated as such.

I hate euthanasia because it is so deceptive. It’s proponents use phrases like “death with dignity” that sound good and have all these sob stories to back it up, but if you look down the road 50 years, the right to die will become the obligation to die. And the reasons we put people down like Old Yeller will become more and more stupid, like their quality of life will suffer because their nose is too big or mommy’s too poor, etc. We will start breeding genetic uber-minsch in laboratories and everyone will be blonde haired, blue-eyed, with IQ’s of 190. The girls will all have DD cups. Our species will be another product and humanity will be a distant memory. 😦
