Evangelical chaplains may face ultimatum

Sorry I don’t have a link, but I’ve read where young Catholic sailors are the targets of proselytizing by evangelical chaplains and their own evangelical shipmates. It’s tough because unlike Army and Air Force troops, they can’t just walk off and go somewhere else. They’re trapped on those boats (ships?) where it’s hard to get away from others.

And, yes, Catholic chaplains NEVER, NEVER proselytize the way those others do.

They are there to serve the men and women in the Services. In no Branch’s mission statement is it said that they are to proselytize, if for no other reason but that they would be showing a bias towards members of their own denomination against the beliefs of others. Definitely bad for morale to have such a chaplain.

That’s the genius of the persecution narrative constructed by guys like this chaplain. He abused a position of trust and when he gets called on it, he’s the victim.

I had never thought about chaplains proselytizing to the rank and file soldiers, sailors, etc.

I must agree that such a thing would be very wrong and could certainly cause a breakdown in morale.

I also agree, it seems the sacked chaplain is trying to make himself the victim, when he deliberately caused his own dismissal.
