I film Catholic videos. In order to know how to reach more people, I want to know what people like seeing in videos, for example…good camera quality, set background that doesn’t change from video to video (except shots of other things),music, short

And what you DONT like to see in videos, for example…too long (how many minutes is too long for you), cheap quality, low lighting/bad lighting, too short…etc.

I’m trying to polish up on my filming and editing and want to know how people can take my work more seriously/relatable/enjoyable…etc…

I think I may have a vocation to this, and am starting school soon! 🙂

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

If it is an apologetic video, a good mic is very important for me. It can be difficult to focus on an argument if the voice is echoing or distant. Beyond that, HD video quality and a steady camera are nice.

I like pop-up graphics, a live presenter, and lots of Bible quotes presented as full-screen slides. The last one, though, only works if it’s a topic where you can use the Bible as an authority – e.g. Baptism or the Eucharist – because if you’re talking to an atheist about God’s existence or something like that, quoting the Bible isn’t always convincing.

Another major point is that the videos should be short. I try to make apologetics videos that hover around 3.5 minutes. People won’t typically watch a long video unless they are doing a study session – then it should be like 25-30 minutes.

My :twocents:

Short videos of 10 minutes or less, and no cheesy wipes, swirls, and other transitions.
