You could work directly with them in a shelter or soup kitchen. By showing Christian charity and love, you will be a powerful witness.
The Franscican Friars of the Renewal live and work among the poor in New York and other areas and don’t forget Mother Theresa and her legacy.
 
I am realising more than ever that besides our brothers and sisters needing our physical help which is so necessary, there are far more spiritually poor who need evangelising in order to help those who are hungry and homeless. Spiritual poverty is so worldwide and the reason for our ‘culture of death’ society. However, you are blessed that you are willing to help those who are marginalised in society. God Bless you
