Ever feel like the Devil is out to get you after you've prayed?

So as I posted, I went to a retreat yesterday and had a nice, prayerful day.

Today I woke up too early and not feeling great, partly because I had some long drives yesterday to get to the retreat and another separate Mass I wanted to attend (it was offered for my family member). I wanted to go back to sleep, but just couldn’t get there.

Finally I gave up and got up…the cats were upset because I’d been too tired to put out extra food for them the night before, and they made a mess like cats do when they are upset, so I had to clean up after them and feed them. Also my computer browser hung up and made me think it was 10:50 am when it was really 11:30.

I ordered carryout online, which is usually no problem, but then when I got in the car and went to get it some car came out of nowhere past my driveway and almost caused an accident and then wouldn’t back up for me to get out of the driveway and just sat there honking. When I finally got over to the carryout place it was inexplicably closed and locked when it should be open, so no food. (I called a couple times later and they are finally there and going to make food but it will take them an extra hour because apparently they have staffing issues and do not open on time and then have a bunch of set up to do when somebody finally decides to appear…this is not a mom and pop either, it’s a chain and you expect it to be open during posted hours)

Driving back from the carryout place, somebody else decided to honk because they were trying to pass on a narrow road and I guess had some problem with that.

I have not started most of my morning prayers because at this point I am just too frustrated to be in the mood to pray. I will say them a little later but I need to calm down, and I’ve already had to apologize to Jesus for impatience with other people at least 3 times today. I can’t help but feel the Devil is out to get me for spending time praying yesterday.

Anybody else experience similar things?

YEs but then I am reminded of the gospel:
‘Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of
this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground. So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of
peace. In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all (the) flaming arrows of the evil one.’ Ephesians 6:11-16

It is no surprise!
But take rest in the knowledge that if he’s out to get you, it probably means there’s still you to get!

Well, I am using the extra time before I have to drive back over to the carryout place to say my prayers…so the Devil can just go back in his hole because he’s not gonna get me today!
