I totally know your reaction.

The proliferation of odd sects whose members are impossible to reach is a tragedy of the North American religious experience.

I have an SDA friend who isn’t anti-Catholic/anti-Orthodox* at all. But his family is from Rwanda and they may not have been exposed to, or may have been less immune to, the kind of prejudice harboured by North American SDA’s.

David has even expressed willingness to look at writings of the Early Church Fathers. Let’s both of us keep praying.

*In the sense of denying that Catholics and Orthodox are truly Christian.

It is based in the Philippines, their leader Eliseo Soriano is in hiding due to a rape case filed by a former male member, however he denied it but refused to go to court to prove his innocence, there is actually a warrant of arrest against him.

Their program is a Q &A where an someone from the audience ask a question and Mr. Soriano answer it. They believe that Christ is God but a lower God than the Father, Christ was born by the Father just like a Mother born a Son, making Christ God since his Father is God, but Christ is not created.

This morning I was flipping through the channels and came across The Church of God Int’l based out of Tyler, TX televised on the Word Network. The topic was about knowing your Bible and what it truly teaches. I’ll make it short, the man hosting the show was basically saying there is no purgatory, no immortal soul, Hell,etc,etc,etc. The man quotes John 3:13 stating no one has gone to Heaven:

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.

In othe words, another sect following the bogus practice: The Bible-only.

I think you may be talking about Iglesia Ni Christo. That is a different cult from what we are discussing.

There are so many odd cults you need a scorecard to keep track of all of them.

…Are “creature Christ” churches.

Yep! The dangers of the Bible-alone. Yet many will argue it is not doctrine,yet a principle. Principle or not…it is bogus.

Nope, its not the Iglesia Ni Cristo, I have known Eli’s cult and watched his programs since 1991, there was a time when the Church of God International and the INC (Iglesia Ni Cristo) was in a big fight due to Eli Soriano’s exposition of the INC false doctrine and proving the Christ is God through the bible. There a lot of conversion from INC to Church of God Intl, there was news of murder,libel and ministers fighting each other. It went so far that Eli Soriano challenged the head of the INC for a debate in which the INC head refrained probably due to his inexperience with debates, however the debate challenge stopped when Eli was accused of Male Rape, and he exiled himself to avoid persecution, they believe it was the INC who is behind such accusation.
