I have been saying my liturgy of the hours everyday. Since I am busy with 2 school age children and house work I don’t always have the time to say my morning prayers in the mornings. Usually I have been saying office of the reading, Morning Prayers, Evening prayers and Night Prayers all at once around late evening to night time when I am free. Is it ok to say all of them at once? I have another question. Do I have to say the memorial prayers for the Saints or can I say the weekly prayers? I have the Benaditictine Daily prayer book also. For example on May 26th my guide said it was Memorial for Saint Philip Neri. But on my Benidictine Daily Prayer book said St. Philip Neri was optional memorial. Sometimes I get confused when I have to flip the pages for different saints on their memorial days. Thank you.

TBH I think you’re trying to do too much. You are not a nun. Lots of prayer is great but your primary focus is your home. There are no rules about when to pray and how to pray if you are not consecrated. Do what you can when you can and let more happen as it does. Stressing yourself out about following a strict prayer regime doesn’t make you any holier. Nobody is grading you and God gives grace.

Well, they’re both correct. A memorial is a memorial - the descriptor is either obligatory or optional. Some books will choose one or the other and then assume the opposite is implied, but I have seen it go both ways.

As far as what prayers to pray when, you do what you can; your obligation is to love God, not make him a chore. You also have a vocation to parenthood that must take precedence, and when done with love, that’s a prayer of praise in itself.
