A priest told a group of men the title point (“Everything in the world exists to serve the family, so all things can serve God”) at a meditation one night and I was immediately struck by its simplicity and truth.

It points to the end of all things…physics, gravity, businesses, science, math, art, government, prayer, the Sacraments, the Church, medicine, duties and rights, leisure, etc.

As soon as we “rightly order” our thinking around this point - which immediately demands a corollary point that hurts us a bit, which is: Don’t make life about me - then there can be a greatly simplifying and serenity-encouraging plan for our life, a unity of life too.

It’s through the work of the family that this right ordering can occur and be fueled and encouraged.
