Greetings,

I’m not sure if this is the best category to post under, but here goes.

I was greatly disappointed to see that the EWTN audio archives aren’t working anymore. I don’t know if this is a temporary situation or not. The archives have been a big help to me and to some others that I know.

I’m just speaking “in general” to those who are reading this, maybe someone is affiliated with EWTN. Is the issue with bandwidth costs? I know myself and some others would be very happy to distribute files via bittorrent or other means if the distribution guidelines were relaxed a bit so that it wouldn’t be prohibited.

Anyways, I just pray that the archives will return someday. You can find some of the programs archived elsewhere of course, but not many of them.

Thank you and God bless,
Paul S.

I hear you on this one. I always keep going back to the audio archives myself. However, I noticed that the player in which we need to listen to them (RealPlayer) needed to be updated, at least on my computer… This I did today and haven’t had a chance to see if it did anything different when it comes downloading mp3’s off EWTN. I’ll go check.

what really disappointed me was that I couldn’t download any files. I like to put some of the mp3’s on CD or my iPod to listen to at my convienence but I wasn’t able to.

StPolycarp77, it looks like the mp3 section works fine. You can download those by right-clicking and saving them.

The archives I was referring to are the older real audio archives here ewtn.com/vondemand/audio/series_index.asp. When you click any of them, they bring up an empty page now.

There is one issue though with the oldest (real audio) files. Some of them will not play with the latest realplayer. As I recall, they needed realplayer 5 to play. A person has to be careful with security problems (that could allow bad guys into your computer) in the older version of realplayer if you have it installed.

I tried your suggestion and it didn’t work. It must be something with my computer or the server I’m using. I tried right clicking and “save target as” with Internet Explorer and it didn’t fully download. I can listen to it live with no problem it’s just when I want to save it and store it on my computer that I run into problems.
