The Capuchins are very much loved and respected here in Detroit, for all that they have done for the community. They have a long-standing tradition of service and compassion in the soup kitchens, their warehouse and food bank that collects and gives food, clothing and furniture to the poor, the halfway house that helps those recovering from substance abuse, and so many other ministries. Fr. Solanus Casey is probably the most beloved and famous of the Detroit Capuchins, and it is wonderful to know that the case for his sainthood is still getting so much attention.
