Excommunication - Breviary

I was looking though the old breviaries at google books and I read something about excommunication in one. I killed the window thinking that it may be something like “under penalties of excommunication…you cannot read this if you’re not a priest”. I think looking back on it that it probably was simply saying you can’t reproduce it or something - so I went back to try and re-read it. I didn’t find that particular breviary so I hope I did everything right. My question is simply is there any current penalty of excommunication for reading (old) breviaries if you’re not a priest?
