Phew …

(I won’t ask that again)
**
She came home after she signed the book of welcome as a candidate heading for the final step home to mother church. I was so excited for her and was still awed by the process. I asked her how she felt and did it feel like she was finally coming home?

Her reply was something like … you know … that’s why so many people complain about catholics … they think (you know the rest of the story).

I am really feeling down. I wonder if I let her down somehow? I’m feeling she might be going through the process “just” to join a church. Could have been this one just as well as another one.

What a bummer.

Who is this you are talking about? Wife? Daughter? Friend?

Good question. Legal wife. Celibate partner. Pending wife.

I feel for you Peter C. But give her some time to develop a real love for Christ’s Church. Perhaps she’s just feeling overwhelmed with her decision. Not quite ready to handle it. Being Catholic does come with many responsibilities. I will pray for you both.

As will I.
Just provide loving support.
She will come around.
God Bless

Thanks all …

I pray silently for her to awaken. Maybe I should pray aloud.

Don’t worry. Emotions come and go and can be affected by other emotions she may be feeling. Pray for and with her. Allow her time to become more and more deeply Catholic in mind and heart. Invite her to come along with you to Stations of the Cross, or Eucharistic Adoration.

Pray for patience.
