Should I get all my sacramentals exorcised in addition to being blessed?

Why in heaven’s name would you think sacramentals need to be exorcised?

Isnt’ it possible that satanic curses, etc., are secretly imparted by malicious people onto the very things we assume are holy or at the very least, neutral? A satanist working in a religious gift shop would probably be pretty proud of themselves.

In addition to what Father said, we believe that blessings do not transfer when an item is sold. So if those gift shop items were blessed before they were sold to us, we would have to get them re-blessed after purchase.

Why would a curse somehow be more powerful than a blessing that it would continue to apply after the item was sold, whereas a blessing would not? Makes no sense.

I think simony is the reason for the cancelling of a blessing. But I see your point. I will go with Father’s advice.

This is actually a thought I have had in the past…thanks for asking about it! And thanks to everyone for the answers!

It is possible and one of the reasons we are told to bless our food before we eat it, and find out exactly where herbal medicines come from, if we use them, as well as other things is the one you cite.

It is a good idea to get all sacramentals you use blessed.
