If anyone has personally been involved with an exorcism or knows good Catholic resources, could you kindly direct me please?
I have been involved in two previously but this recent case with this man is completely different. Thank you for any assistance.

When you say Catholic resources, do you mean regarding exorcism or are you looking for a ‘‘how-to’’ guide as it were?
 
I’ve seen an exorcism and have been involved with a demonic oppression incident. If you are thinking about trying an exorcism…DON’T!!! It’s serious stuff, call your Parish Priest and he can get a hold of an exorcist for you.
 
We cannot call a parish priest. I do not run this show and my attitudes towards Catholics and the attitudes of other fundamentalists are not going to be the same. I want to hear or read I suppose what has worked for other people in other cases.

Well, for the most part, what has worked for Catholics is a Catholic priest performing the Rite of Exorcism.
 
I read the Rite of exorcism. What is the significance of the stole being purple?
 
For lay people, the ‘‘Vade Retro Satana’’, or St. Anthony’s Brief, or the prayer of St. Michael may be sufficient.

Vade Retro Satana

Latin text:
Crux sancta sit mihi lux / Non draco sit mihi dux
Vade retro satana / Numquam suade mihi vana
Sunt mala quae libas / Ipse venena bibas

Translation:
“Let the Holy Cross be my light / Let not the dragon be my guide

I think purple has something to do with healing. Though it may symbolize authority. I’m not 100%. Are you saying that you performed the Rite of Exorcism?
 
Well, for starters, exorcisms can be quite volatile, and the Rite of Exorcism can only be done with a qualified, competent Catholic priest, and only then under very special and unique circumstances.

For starters, if you are truly interested in studying exorcism, one good place to start might be to pick up Fr. Malachi Martin’s book, “Hostage to the Devil”, perhaps one of the most authoritative texts on the subject.

Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican’s Chief Exorcist, has some books he has written on the subject as well. * “An Exorcist Tells His Story”* and “An Exorcist: More Stories” are two of his books.

“Beware the Night” is a book written by Catholic police officer, Ralph Sarchie, and is another scary read on the subject.

The actual text of the Rite of Exorcism can be found in the Roman Ritual, Volume 2, by Fr. Philip Weller:

During an exorcism, there is definite physical, psychological, mental, and spiritual harm that can be done to the exorcist by the demon. It is very, very dangerous if the exorcist is not properly knowledgeable and trained in this subject area.

Exorcisms are conducted in Latin – According to Fr. Amorth, the Devil hates Latin, and demons become quite agitated by pictures of Pope John Paul II:

No. Although there are a lot of similiarities. I did not read it until this afternoon after I got back from it. They are going back tomorrow. No one else is worried and everything seems to be going well from everyone elses perspective. What I am going to have to tell the group tomorrow is that things are not going well and that the garbage he is spouting is about me but no one else knows it is about me. The man cannot know it is about me. No one can. Its impossible. Only two people know about this and I am one.
I used to be an atheist and the rest of the story is very long and I do not have the guts to reveal it when no one on this forum, well except a few of you, know who I am.

You really must understand that you should definetly NOT try this without a Catholic Priest , who is a trained and accomplished excorcist. A Catholic priest, who is not trained in it is not even allowed to try it. An excorcist knows what to do and how to do it and has done it hundreds of times.

Satan is tricky and his demons are tricky. They can trick you. They could even take over you if it is not done right. A Catholic excorcist is the only person who can do this. I am not trying to be mean, but I am seriously worried about you trying this without the guidance of the church.

If your fundamentalist friends do not have a good understanding of Catholics, they may not be open to it. But You must stand firm and say that this has to be done by a priest. Even if they wear down on you, you must stand firm and not allow this to be done without a Priest who is an excorcist. The only way that this person can be freed is by a priest. The only way an excorcism is safe is if it is done by the rubrics, by an excorcist. I may read the rite or anointing of the sick, but that does not mean I can do it.

Please, Please, DO NOT try this without a an excorcist.:highprayer:

I really have to agree with the above post. These demons or demon infesting this individual could attack you physically, psychologically, spiritually, etc.

If you are telling us that the demon has personal knowledge about you that no one else could possibly know, then you are definitely dealing with very serious demonic forces. Only a competent, qualified Catholic priest can properly exorcise this individual, if at all.

One of the things that Fr. Malachi mentions is that the exorcist and his assistants have to go to confession, and keep clean from sin before the exorcism – otherwise, the demon has more ammunition to attack. Besides just the Rite of Exorcism, you would need the proper training in the preparation for the exorcism, etc.

Again, you are dealing with demonic forces that can and will enter your life if you are not very, very careful. You are dealing with dangerous, volatile stuff here.
 
My pastor has done many even after weekly service. He is praying and fasting constantly. I have seen these things manifest with my own two eyes. It will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up if you know what I mean.

Last week after service a lady was delivered of several demons and she was totally changed.

As It was explained to me the color purple is worn on this occasion for several reasons.
1 as a sign of the authority of the priest
2 purple is traditionally the color worn in confession/reconciliation of the penitent.
3 purple is traditionally worn also when visiting the sick and anointing them.
4 purple is the color of the Lenten/advent season which also symbolizes a person who may be fasting (you should for an exorcism) and penance.

Other than this the stole in the prayers for vesting (traditional) represents the yoke of Christ that you put on.
Most of the exorcisms that I have been involved with the priest is wearing what is referred to as a “reconciliation stole” which is a miniature one much like if you ever see Fr. Mulkahe (spelling) on MASH wear. This stole is common in sick call kits and kits used to carry holy oils and holy water for anointing.

Be careful! I read the book about the actual demonic possession which happened to a boy in 1949. You will be dealing with supernatural powers who have no mercy on humans. The boy was actually a Lutheran,but his Lutheran minister told the family to go seek help from a Roman Catholic priest who is a qualified exorcist.
 
I could quote exorcists and sources and people all day long but the bottom line is get the Diocesan Exorcist. Please, please, please. You need a Priest there.
Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
St Michael the Archangel, pray for us.
