Besides the obvious possessions for what else can one seek out an exorcist? When someone goes to confession regularly for the same issues which don’t seem to resolve (i.e. anger, lust, feelings of hatred, strong feelings of jealousy, strong feelings of dissatisfaction, etc.), would the prayers of an exorcist help reduce the evil which contributes to these feelings? Does each diocese have an exorcist available?

there are several threads on this topic, please search them out, one is Can I do an exorcism? Sinfulness (a condition we all share) is not the same as demonic possession (a rare but real condition). Every dioceses is supposed to have an exorcist, you would call the chancery, but you would probably have to be referred by your pastor, after confession. The first line of defense against demons is confession and the other sacraments. The first job of the exorcist is to determine if there is true demonic possession, ruling out mental, psychological, medical or other conditions. Read Fr. Gabriel Amorth’s book as a good guide.
